Czech teachers abroad: ‘We have discovered new tools thanks to coronavirus.’

Every year, teachers from Czech schools in the United States and Canada meet to discuss their work and the challenges of maintaining Czech language skills among children living abroad during their annual conference (which Czech School of California hosted in San Francisco two years ago in 2018. This year’s event was co-hosted the Czech School in Calgary and the Czech School in North Carolina and unlike its previous editions, it took place online, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Our Director of Education and teacher Bara Brehovska dialed into the conference, as did nearly 140 other educators of Czech language abroad, many of them representing 21 Czech schools from the United States. For an overview, see this interview Marta McGabe from Czech School of North Carolina gave to Radio Prague International about the content and outcome https://english.radio.cz/czech-teachers-abroad-we-have-discovered-new-tools-thanks-coronavirus-8682337.
