Iva Crookston M.A.

My name is Iva Crookston, and I come from a small town in the Czech Republic called Mlada Boleslav.

Before I came to the United States, I worked as an executive assistant at the car manufacturing company Škoda Auto which is part of the Volkswagen group. I also helped create an election campaign for one of the prominent Czech political parties. Additionally, I worked as a head of economic department of a Spanish German company.

I have been living in the US since 2006 when I started studying at Brigham Young University in Utah. Within 4 years I completed a bachelor’s degree in German literature and minor in Communications as well as my Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language. I also created and taught a Czech class (Czech cultural history) at the same university. Since then I have started and lead two successful language projects.

Czech School of California is a dream come true. I am honored to be a part of this amazing project and am very glad I can contribute and help it grow. We have done a lot of great work in a short period of time, and I believe this is just a beginning.
